Sniff Sniff: Dogs can smell thousands of times better than humans. Their noses have millions of more scent receptors - for example if a human’s nose has an average of 5 million receptors, a Dachshund’s nose has 125 million. WOW! This is also why dogs can sense your feelings, such as fear.

One of a Kind: Just like a human's fingerprint, no two dog noses are the same. Every dog's nose has a unique pattern of ridges and creases. Also, a dog's nose is wet because it helps absorb scent chemicals.

Dogs do Dream: Dogs dream like humans and that is why dogs may twitch in their sleep.  A dog’s dreaming pattern is much like a humans however, they are probably dreaming of activities such as playing outside or enjoying a homemade treat.

Growing Up: Puppies are born blind and deaf… that is CRAZY!! Newborn puppies are still developing so their ear canals and eyes are still closed. Most puppies will open their eyes and respond to noises after about two weeks.

Breathe Easy: Dogs only sweat through the pads of their feet. Therefore, they pant to cool themselves off. A panting dog can take 300-400 breaths compared to a regular 30-40!!
