When I was a young kid, I always imagined being a baker. Baking delicious pastries with my mom in the kitchen really inspired me. Well have the tables turned, slightly…
Freshman and Sophomore year of college I was an undecided major, still trying to figure out what I wanted in life. I thought, how could I make baking a career?
When the end of my Sophomore year came around, I took a test that showed me my top personality traits, and what careers matched with my answers. When Junior year rolled around, I needed to make the brave decision of picking a major that would depict the rest of my life.
Communications, a perfect fit that tied all of my favorite aspects of my personality together; public speaking, people, and relationships was ideal. Choosing a minor in Marketing and Management really helped me when it came to choosing a career. This is how Four Paws Barkery was born.
Four Paws Barkery was born in November 2019, with the thought of baking healthy treats, not for people, but for dogs. My love for dogs has always been strong, however grew stronger when I adopted my puppy at just 12 weeks old. He was simply the light bulb I needed, at a confusing time in my life. If it was not for the love of animals, I would not have this image built around Four Paws Barkery.
I would be lying if I said it was all fun and easy. Owning a business, at only 21 years old, still attending college, and balancing my life between family and friends is extremely difficult. I have made many mistakes, (and will continue to) which have helped me grow and learn more about owning a business. On the other hand, I have also achieved many outstanding aspects of business, through social media and word of mouth. Owning a business is the perfect definition of turning stress into success.
I am grateful for the support that I have received from everyone around me, offering me advice and congratulating me when things go great. After graduation, my goal revolves around Four Paws Barkery. Working a career focused around Communications and Marketing, while saving money to expand Four Paws Barkery is my ultimate goal.
I am excited to see where Four Paws Barkery takes me, along with my career. When I think about the next 10 years, I envision myself running a brick and mortar location in a fast-paced shop. I know my dreams will come true and this is all because of you and the support you all offer, so thank YOU!
